On August 6th…
We’re thrilled to host our 4th broadcast episode!
Between July 1 and August 6, we were very excited to organize our first STEM Challenge with CDK Global, a technology company dedicated to the automotive industry. Our programme welcomed 65 CDK Global interns with the challenge to help them to bring the technology and innovation of CDK to life. For a month they worked hard, learnt a lot and hopefully, had some fun too. And, it’s now time to see the result! In addition to help building their professional skills in creative storytelling, collaborating with a team, presenting to an audience, breaking down complex STEM subjects, and more, each team has developed a hands-on experiment and recorded a training video. Our wonderful jury of both executives and children reviewed them and will announce the winning teams during this broadcast episode! The interns will also have a chance to share with us their journey, the challenges they faced, their own inspiration in STEM, their learning outcome, and more.
We’ll also be joined by some of CDK Global’s executive team such as Sherri Dublin and Madhavi Sakuru Meekcoms, as well as Cathy Russell, from Boys and Girls Club.
For our 4th Science, you had me at hello®, we are inviting girls and boys 14 and up from the US and more to hear the awe-inspiring stories from role models at CDK Global and across various STEM fields! After the broadcast, we will be sharing learning resources with participants and schools for all children aged 11 onward.
These are stories told LIVE, and participants can interact with these amazing speakers.
What: Our broadcast will gather inspiring STEM role models, excited to share their stories, their inspiration, their wishes with the attendees. This broadcast is organized in partnership with our partners, CDK Global and Boys and Girls Club.
When: Thursday, August 6th, at 3 p.m. EST. Our broadcast will last for 1 hour and a half.
Where: This live broadcast will take place on the platform Zoom. Please be reassured that we are utilizing Zoom’s safety functions and that we will be monitoring online safety during the broadcast by having a Safety Officer as part of our dedicated behind-the-scenes team.
Why: From our own Impact studies, we know that one thing is key to inspiring girls to pursue STEM subjects – and that is, to provide a community of role models. Tailored to our older g4g students who are determining what studies to pursue in university, our broadcasts “Science, you had me at hello® ” connect female scientists and STEM leaders to the next generation of potential engineers, scientists and curiosity-filled young women. They are designed to encourage you to think about what inspires you, to begin to contemplate your purpose and to create some ideas on how you can get there.
