The Future Innovator's Library
In 2020, we joined Solvay's Citizen Day, and launched ‘The Future Innovator's Library.’, a virtual library packed with STEM educational videos produced by Solvay’s employees. Our goal? To educate, to inspire and engage the communities around the world, to share Solvay employees’ expertise with the next generation of inventors, and to bond people, ideas and elements to reinvent progress!
“Our hope is that this project gives Solvay a chance to demonstrate what they can do and how they are paving the way for future progress by creating unique educational videos, which could be part of a virtual learning science library – created by Solvay teams in collaboration with greenlight for girls, inspiring future educational and STEM initiatives,” says Richard Thommeret, R&I Communications and Philanthropy Director.
greenlight for girls & Solvay
Solvay and greenlight for girls (g4g) have been working together to inspire girls (& boys) in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) for a few years.
In November 2018, greenlight for girls was thrilled to invite Solvay to host a hands-on workshop at their annual g4g Day Brussels, an interactive event where learning STEM meets fun and creativity. In March 2019, we launched our first g4g Day in Brussels at Solvay; Thanks to the help of the XperiLab, we invited 50 girls to experiment with our four interactive workshops. They had the chance to discover all of the secrets of sodium bicarbonate, explored the XperiLab Bus, tackled statistics with M&M’s and had an amazing tour of the Solvay labs around Batteries and Reverse Engineering. In November 2020, we are thrilled to join their Citizen Day activities, organize a meeting between our g4g ambassadors and Solvay’s CEO, Dr. Ilham Kadri, and launch a virtual library packed with STEM content highlighting Solvay’s employees’ expertise.
