We are thrilled to be hosting an online episode of our very own Science, you had me at hello® in partnership with Covestro. Covestro is a world-leading supplier of high-tech polymer materials: innovative, sustainable and diverse.

This episode will be all abut POSSIBILITIES: How many doors can STEM open? How can we get to know about careers and STEM professionals? What are the endless possibilities hidden behind a certain material or ingredient? Tune in to meet STEM experts and role models, and enjoy our hands-on experiment!

In our Broadcast, we invite awe-inspiring role models to share that ONE moment where they knew that science and their being were inexplicably intertwined. These are stories told LIVE. Participants can interact with these amazing speakers, virtually travel into their daily life, and ask them questions. Our broadcast last approximately an hour and include a innovative and hands-on experiment that you can all replicate at home! All are welcome though this broadcast is aimed at girls aged 15+.

Sucheta Govil is Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at Covestro. Being British citizen of Indian origin born in 1963, Sucheta studied at the University of Delhi and at the Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta, where she graduated with a post-graduate degree in Business Management. She spent most of her career in various management positions. Today, she works at Covestro a world-leading supplier of high-tech polymer materials which are innovative, sustainable and diverse. She is in charge of the three divisions Polyurethanes, Polycarbonates and Coatings, Adhesives, Specialties. Govil is also responsible for the Central Marketing, for Innovation Management & Commercial Services.

Dr Sunali Khanna is a reputed specialist in Oral Medicine and Maxillofacial Radiology. Dr Khanna is an eminent educationist, climate activist and Professor at Nair Hospital Dental College, Mumbai, a premiere institute in India. She has conducted research on Tobacco related diseases, has co-authored HIV/AIDS manual for health professionals and has participated in health awareness programs on the National Television. She firmly believes in paying back to the community in full measure: Sunali works extensively towards the health care of elderly and marginalized populations and in 2019 she received the Visionary Leadership award for being an insightful and prescient brain trust for health issues in India. She is the Vice President of the Indian Academy of Oral Medicine & Radiology, has authored 65 research papers in international journals, has addressed 45 international conferences, and has also designed training modules and suggested reforms in higher education especially the prevailing examination system. She is also an excellent swimmer who was awarded Sports Authority of India scholarship for five years!

As a STEAM project leader and teacher, she loves nothing more than to share her passion for science and mathematics, and she has endeavored to develop student and staff capacity in new and emerging technologies. Her STEAM Club has now 150+ students regularly participating in various activities like 3D printing and designing, wearable technologies, and social entrepreneurship based on UN SDG through the Young Persons Plan for the Planet (YPPP) program. In 2017, she was awarded STEAM 'Teacher of the year' by DATTA Australia. Although she is currently based in Australia, she originally comes from India.

What: Our new broadcast episode will gather inspiring STEM role models, excited to share their stories, their inspiration, their wishes with the attendees.

When: 29 June 2021 at 9:30 am - 11:00 am Central European Time / 1pm - 230pm Indian Standard Time. Our broadcast will last for 1 hour.

Where: This live broadcast will take place on the platform Zoom. Please be reassured that we are utilizing Zoom’s safety functions and that we will be monitoring online safety during the broadcast by having a Safety Officer as part of our dedicated behind-the-scenes team.

Why: From our own Impact studies, we know that one thing is key to inspiring girls to pursue STEM subjects – and that is, to provide a community of role models. Tailored to our older g4g students who are determining what studies to pursue in university, our broadcasts “Science, you had me at hello® connect female scientists and STEM leaders to the next generation of potential engineers, scientists and curiosity-filled young women. They are designed to encourage you to think about what inspires you, to begin to contemplate your purpose and to create some ideas on how you can get there.
