We are teaming up with the U.S. Embassy in Belgium to launch ‘The great passport to STEM challenge’. This is a free, virtual, and cross-cultural after-school program from January – June 2021 that encourages girls to be sustainable innovators . Our aim is to inspire 100 girls from different backgrounds to use Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) to solve an innovative design challenge with a network of support from expert role-models and mentors in the fields.

This is a multilingual, international program and we invite any school in Belgium and the United States to apply for the challenge!

What? This is a one-of-a-kind virtual after-school program meant to inspire more girls in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). It will include a sustainable challenge, a chance to meet other participants from another continent, as well as the opportunity to connect with science role-models.

This is a huge opportunity for the selected schools to have unique mentorship by cross-cultural experts in the STEM fields, demonstrate their commitment to be a sustainable school, and meet their own goals of encouraging more girls in the STEM subjects

Who? This challenge is open to schools across Belgium and the United States. We invite teachers to register their interest to be a facilitator. Each school may invite a group of 10 girls aged 12-15 years old, and a dedicated teacher ready to inspire!

How? To help them in this challenge, we will provide all the participants with learning experiences, hands-on science demonstrations and pedagogic toolkits. The students will have the opportunity to build up their STEM skills, engage with scientific role models, connect with innovative companies, interact with their sister school across the world, ALL while designing and building with their own sustainable invention.
