We are thrilled to be hosting our third Meet The Scientist event of the year. In collaboration with Solvay, we're headed to Vadodara, in the west Indian state of Gujarat. Our g4g team will gather 200 girls from grades 6 to 8 for a water-themed hackathon. Thanks to our partner Solvay, we are able to explain the challenges around water [UN SDG 6] to female students from Savli Kanya Prathmik School on the periphery of a semi-urban area. The hackathon will be conducted in Hindi and Gujarati (the two languages spoken by the girls).
Students will have a chance to create inventions and solutions to make water accessible to the community. This programme is mentored by scientists from Solvay as well as the g4g team. Earlier this year, g4g in partnership with Solvay conducted an online global hackathon with participants from countries such as Belgium, South Korea, Canada, and the US, to name a few. This in-person session brings creativity and prototyping solutions from hands-on learning.
