History & goals

Procter and Gamble has been involved with greenlight for girls since 2013 and has taken part in 7 of our 10 greenlight for girls Days in Brussels – wow!

Our global partnership began officially in January 2015 where we launched signature Procter & Gamble workshops at our Brussels events and soon… in Barcelona. We are proud to say that we have an annual g4g and P&G event in Cincinnati, USA which is one of our biggest of the year – welcoming over 300 girls from different backgrounds, 20 workshops, 15+ partners from the community, and engaging 80+ P&G volunteers.

Our hope is to continue growing our partnership with exciting ideas on developing tool kits of simple P&G chemistry demos that can be conducted virtually or remotely, as well as launching in new areas of the world such as Africa, South America, and Asia. So far, we are thrilled to say that we have reached over 2,900 girls aged 11-15 with the help of over 11,000 volunteers!

In May 2019, 320 girls joined us and experienced all the fun behind STEM… They gathered chemistry skills to make their own beauty products, ice cream or polymer worms, discovered all the secrets behind the human DNA, got to see and touch and actual brains, had fun coding… And so much more! Cherry on top, thanks to the wonderful 130 volunteers, the girls could benefit from mentoring sessions with wonderful role models from the STEM fields. Check out our Facebook Album here!

g4g Day in Cincinnati - May 2018

Our event brought together 320 girls aged 11-15 from the local community and nearly 200 volunteers from different STEM backgrounds. Girls had the opportunity to come onstage to ask questions such as "at what age did you know you wanted to be a scientist?" and "have you ever failed at something and what did you learn from it?" Then, onto the workshops - with 21 hands-on activities such as polymer worms, bath bomb, roller coaster engineering, coding, and more. Check our Facebook Album here!
