Month by month…

US Embassy timeline.png

In December, we launched this very exciting programme, inviting all schools in Belgium and the USA to join our challenge!

Throughout January, we onboarded 12 schools, six from Belgium and six from the USA, almost 100 students and 14 teachers for this exciting challenge!

In February, we launched our first phase, all focused on sustainability and biodiversity by exploring the first design thinking process: Research! After our kick-off call, we provided the participants with creative activities and fun design exercises. Together, we also learnt about the life and achievement of a wonderful female inventor, and attended our first Inspiration Series.

In March, once more we had fun with activities, games, worksheets and STEM Experiment. Our inspiration series brought us closer to STEM professionals, and together we dived into circular economy while learning about the second design thinking process: Empathy!

In April, we continued our journey toward a more sustainable word and kicked-off a new phase all focused on disruption! We invited participants to think and see differently while meeting STEM professionals, travelling into their daily lives, and being paired to their sister schools!

In May we focused on Alternative energies, while realizing the importance of… TESTING our ideas and prototypes! The highlight of the month? Meetings more sister-schools and mentors from across the globes. The girls presented their prototypes and received amazing feedbacks in order to update and improve their invention.

In June, we wrapped-up our amazing programme: Participants finalized their invention and presented to a jury. We gave special awards and recognitions, celebrated the Most inventive spirit, the Most engaging voice, the Most impactful innovation, and the Most sustainable innovation. Participants got Certified ‘Future Sustainability Innovator’ and received their ‘Inspiration box’ packed with g4g tokens, mystery items, and fun experiments to do at home.
